Why translate Russian documents into Ukrainian
Ukraine's 2019 state language law made Ukrainian mandatory in public administration, services and much of business, so Russian-language company documents, manuals and templates are being converted to Ukrainian. Older archival and contract records drafted in Russian are also translated for Ukrainian courts and registries.

About Russian and Ukrainian
Russian (Русский) is written in the Cyrillic script and spoken by about 255 million, mainly in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan; widely understood across the former Soviet states. Russian names can be transliterated into Latin letters in several ways, so make sure names in a translated document match the spelling on the person's passport.
Ukrainian (Українська) is written in the Cyrillic script and spoken by about 35 million, mainly in Ukraine, with large communities in Poland, Germany, Canada and the US. Ukrainian Cyrillic has letters Russian lacks (і, ї, є, ґ), and Ukrainian passports use an official national transliteration, so keep names consistent with the passport spelling.
