QR Code Generator: Create Custom QR Codes Online
Turn any URL or text into a scannable QR code in seconds. QR Code Generator in PDF Translator Pro lets you create custom QR codes with your choice of colors and resolution — ready to download as a PNG image and use anywhere.
Whether you need a QR code for a website link, a business card, a product label, or a document, QR Code Generator produces a clean, high-quality image you can use in print and digital materials alike.
How to Generate a QR Code
The process takes seconds:
- Open PDF Translator Pro and navigate to QR Code Generator from the main menu.
- Enter the URL or text you want to encode in the QR Code Content field. This can be any URL, plain text, contact information, or other data.
- Choose a QR Code Color and Background Color using the color pickers. The default is black on white.
- Select a Quality setting:
- Standard (512×512) — suitable for digital use and small print.
- Print Quality (2048×2048) — higher resolution for large-format print materials.
- Optionally click the output filename to rename the PNG file before generating.
- Click Generate QR Code. The QR code appears in the preview panel on the left when ready.
- Click Download QR Code to save the PNG to your device.
Customization Options
Three options let you control the appearance and resolution of your QR code:
- QR Code Color — the color of the QR code modules (the dark squares). Use any hex color to match your brand or design.
- Background Color — the color of the background behind the QR code. Defaults to white. Ensure sufficient contrast between the code color and background for reliable scanning.
- Quality — choose Standard (512×512) for web and screen use, or Print Quality (2048×2048) for large-format printing such as posters, banners, or packaging.
Output File
The generated QR code is saved as a PNG image. The default filename is qr-code.png. To use a different name, click the filename in the settings panel before generating — a rename dialog opens where you can type any name you prefer.
Cost
Generating a QR code costs 1 credit. The cost and your current credit balance are shown in the panel before you confirm, so there are no surprises. If your balance is insufficient, the shortfall is shown and the app takes you to the packages page to top up.
Tips for Best Results
- Keep sufficient contrast between code and background. High contrast — dark code on a light background — ensures QR codes scan reliably across different devices and lighting conditions. Avoid color combinations that are too similar.
- Use Print Quality for anything going to print. Standard resolution is fine on screen but can appear blurry when printed at larger sizes. Choose Print Quality (2048×2048) for posters, flyers, business cards, and packaging.
- Test the QR code after downloading. Scan the downloaded PNG with your phone before publishing or printing to confirm it resolves to the correct URL or content.
- Keep the encoded content concise. Shorter URLs and text produce simpler QR codes that scan faster and more reliably. Use a URL shortener for long links before encoding them.
- Rename the file before generating. The default name qr-code.png is not descriptive if you are generating multiple codes. Set a meaningful name in the rename dialog so files are easy to identify later.
Also Available on the Mobile App
QR Code Generator is also available in the PDF Translator Pro mobile app. On your phone or tablet you can scan or create your QR code — the same credit balance applies across both platforms. Check out more about this in this article.
